1. Soft drinks contain a high amount of simple sugars
The organ called the pancreas inside your body need to break dwon and burn more sugar. The overindulging of simple sugar raise the insulin levels that can lead to depression of the immune system, which in turn weakens your ability to fight disease.

2. Excess sugar ends up being stored as fat in your body
Yes, too much sugar will be fat inside your body, hence you'll becoming overweight. Chances of heart disease is quite high.

3. Diet soda is filled with artificial sweeteners
Artificial sweeteners such as saccharin has been found to be carcinogenic, and studies have found that it produced bladder cancer in rats.
